Fall Chanterelle Season Excellent If you enjoy the taste of the wild chanterelle mushroom you "should have been here" this past fall. Our mild, dry autumn with just enough rain produced marvelous mushrooms that seemed to be just about everywhere in the many second growth forests within minutes of the guest house. This is a pastime I came to quite late and am I ever glad that I discovered it. Walking through the half light of the darkened forest floor and spotting those beautiful orange fungi glowing neon provided me with hours of pleasure throughout the entire fall. And, then, you get to eat them! |
